MikroTik RB260GS CSS106-5G-1S Gigabit Switch for SOHO & SMB
MikroTik RB260GS (CSS106-5G-1S) is a Gigabit smart switch for small offices and SOHO installations, with five Gigabit Ethernet ports and an SFP port for optical uplink or long-distance connectivity. Designed for small networks requiring traffic management through VLANs, bandwidth limiting, and monitoring without the complexity of a dedicated router.
The SFP port with DDM support enables real-time fiber link status monitoring and connectivity beyond copper cable distance limits — tested and recommended with MikroTik modules S-85DLC05D, S-31DLC20D, and S-35/53LC20D. The QCA8337 switch chip handles Gigabit switching across all ports at wire speed without additional software-introduced latency. A maximum power draw of 5 W and passive cooling ensure silent, energy-efficient operation in any office environment.
The switch runs SwOS — MikroTik's dedicated operating system for switching equipment — fully configurable from a browser without additional software. SwOS provides granular traffic control: port-to-port forwarding, MAC filtering, VLAN configuration, traffic mirroring, per-port bandwidth limiting, and MAC and IP header field adjustment. Passive PoE input (11–30 V) or DC jack allows flexible installation including scenarios powered from upstream MikroTik switches or routers.
Recommended for small offices and SOHO installations requiring network segmentation through VLANs without investing in enterprise switching, small racks and patch panels where the SFP port connects the switch to existing optical infrastructure, and MikroTik networks where SwOS ensures compatibility and unified management with the rest of the equipment. Tested operating temperature from -20°C to +70°C and an MTBF of 100,000 hours confirm reliability under continuous operation.
