MikroTik RB5009UG+S+IN is a high-performance ethernet router for home labs, small offices, and compact network infrastructures, delivering enterprise-grade processing power in an exceptionally small form factor. With seven Gigabit ports, a 2.5G port, a 10G SFP+ cage, and three powering options, it is the right step up for networks that have outgrown standard routing hardware.

The hardware platform features a Marvell Armada quad-core ARMv8 CPU running up to 1.4 GHz, 1 GB DDR4 RAM, and 1 GB NAND storage — a combination delivering nearly double the performance of similarly sized devices under heavy CPU load. The Marvell Amethyst switch chip connects all ports through a 10 Gbps full-duplex internal bus. The metal enclosure acts as a passive heatsink for both the CPU and switch chip, mounted on the underside of the board — effective fanless cooling with no moving parts. A full-size USB 3.0 port adds storage and peripheral connectivity options.

RB5009UG+S+IN integrates into existing infrastructure via the 10G SFP+ port for fiber uplinks or point-to-point links, and the 2.5G port for traffic aggregation. It supports three independent powering methods — PoE-in (802.3af/at), DC jack, and 2-pin terminal — providing full flexibility across deployment scenarios. With the included mounting accessories, four units fit into a single 1U rack space, eliminating the need for bulky dedicated routing hardware in server rooms.
