MikroTik NetMetal ax is MikroTik's toughest long-range outdoor access point, now with WiFi 6, designed for installation in extreme environments where standard equipment would not survive. It is deployed by integrators and network operators installing access points in damp attics, elevator shafts, bustling docks, coastal tower structures, telecommunications masts, and any location with exposure to dust, powerful water jets, or aggressive environmental conditions. IP66 protection, a robust metal enclosure that can be opened with one hand, and a modern WiFi 6 platform make it the reference solution for extreme outdoor deployments at any distance.

NetMetal ax integrates dual-band WiFi 6 dual-chain with 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2400 Mbps on 5 GHz, with two RP-SMA female connectors for external antennas — compatible with antennas for distances up to 30 km or with the HGO-antenna-OUT omnidirectional antenna for local coverage (3.3 dBi on 2.4 GHz, 5.5–7.1 dBi on 5 GHz). The Gigabit Ethernet port with passive PoE, 2.5G SFP port for fiber connectivity, USB type A port, free miniPCIe slot, and Nano SIM slot provide a complete expansion platform — add an LTE modem for internet backup or the R11e-LR8 module for a LoRa IoT gateway. The dual-core ARM IPQ-5010 processor at 800 MHz with 256 MB RAM and 128 MB NAND runs RouterOS v7 (License Level 4) with full functionality at no recurring cost.

IP66 protection ensures complete resistance to dust and powerful water jets from any direction, covering the most challenging outdoor installation scenarios. The included kit — 24V 1.2A adapter, Gigabit PoE injector, metal mounting ring, and DIN mount K-27 — enables immediate installation on a pole, wall, or DIN rail without additional accessories. Maximum consumption of 12W without load, passive cooling, and the operating range from -40°C to +70°C guarantee efficient and reliable operation in any climatic conditions. The integrated beeper provides configurable alarms or creative outputs for specialized applications.
