Indoor air quality monitoring in offices, meeting rooms and technical spaces works best with measured data rather than guesswork. MikroTik CLAIRÉ is a connected air quality sensor that tracks CO₂, PM2.5 and PM10 particulate matter, volatile organic compounds (VOC), temperature and humidity. It gives facility managers and IT administrators a clear view of room conditions and a practical basis for automated ventilation control.
CO₂ measurement relies on a Sensirion photoacoustic sensor, delivering stable readings for ventilation decisions in occupied rooms. In a busy meeting room, CO₂ builds up faster than most people expect and can affect focus and productivity. Particulate and VOC sensors reveal the impact of 3D printing, solvents, adhesives, cleaning or cooking in the office kitchen. A 2-inch color display shows readings directly in the room, with selectable display modes and color-coded warnings when air quality deteriorates.
As a Matter over Thread device, CLAIRÉ turns its measurements into automation triggers. Rising CO₂ can switch on ventilation, a rapid drop in air quality can send alerts by e-mail, SMS or light signals, and ventilation scales back once conditions normalize. Integration with Home Assistant keeps data, history and automation rules inside the local network, without sending every reading to external servers. In a MikroTik environment, Home Assistant runs as a container on hAP be³ Media, deployed through WinBox 4. The sensor also works with Matter controllers such as Apple TV 4K and Google Nest Hub, while Bluetooth is used only for initial provisioning.
The sensor serves organizations that treat workplace comfort and productivity as measurable goals, across open-plan offices, conference rooms, training classrooms and laboratories. Workshops running 3D printers or solvent-based processes gain concrete data on airborne particles and volatile compounds. With power consumption below 1 W, CLAIRÉ runs from USB Type-C, a power bank or MikroTik GPOE-USB, which suits temporary checks where no outlet is available. For permanent installations, a 5 V DC terminal connector accepts an LPS adapter. A wall bracket with a security screw option protects the device in shared areas, and the compact 76 × 76 × 24 mm enclosure fits discreetly on a desk or wall.
