Tracking tagged assets and collecting sensor telemetry across warehouses, logistics terminals, and industrial sites calls for an industrial IoT gateway installed where the devices are, not only where network cabling exists. MikroTik KNOT Gateway HL9 is an IP66-rated IoT gateway combining BLE 5.1, 915 MHz Wi-Fi HaLow, Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit Ethernet, LTE Cat 1 bis, and GNSS in a single unit. It supports asset tracking for pallets, containers, tools, and equipment in motion, and brings remote meters and sensors into a unified business network.
The hardware platform runs on a dual-core ARM64 IPQ-5010 processor at 800 MHz with 256 MB of RAM and 128 MB of NAND storage. These resources allow data filtering and script execution locally, without loading central servers. The IP66 enclosure, passive cooling, and a tested operating range of -40°C to 50°C allow outdoor mounting on poles, building facades, or in unheated facilities. Power is supplied via 802.3af/at PoE-in or a 12–57 V DC input with surge protection, and a maximum draw of 7 W keeps installation at remote points straightforward. Integrated antennas for BLE, Wi-Fi, LTE, sub-GHz, and GNSS reduce external components, while external antenna connectors for BLE and sub-GHz add flexibility where coverage requirements are non-standard.
Data reaches your servers over three backhaul paths: Gigabit Ethernet, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6, and LTE Cat 1 bis with a nano SIM slot and eSIM support. With MikroTik Connectivity, mobile data is activated through a MikroTik account, using preloaded eSIM profiles, multi-operator switching, and backup access for remote management. RouterOS v7 (level 4 license) handles BLE advertisement filtering, local processing through scripts, and publishing over MQTT or HTTP. Data then flows into the IoT platform of your choice through custom dashboards, notifications, and reports.
KNOT Gateway HL9 serves logistics companies, warehouse and terminal operators, utilities, and IoT system integrators that need visibility over assets and field data. In warehouses and distribution centers, the gateway follows BLE-tagged pallets and equipment through every stage of the operational flow. At terminals and container yards, LTE and GNSS make deployment possible in areas without wired infrastructure. For remote meter reading and sensor monitoring, Wi-Fi HaLow extends coverage beyond Bluetooth range, and in projects mixing several generations of devices, KNOT becomes the single point for data collection and transmission.
