MikroTik S+AO0005 – 10G SFP+ Active Optical Cable for SMB & Enterprise

MikroTik S+AO0005 is a 5-meter active optics direct attach SFP+ 10G cable designed for interconnecting SFP/SFP+ equipment within the same rack or between adjacent racks. Unlike passive DAC cables, the active optics variant is compatible with all MikroTik equipment featuring SFP/SFP+ ports — including the RB4011 series, which does not support passive direct attach cables.

The active cable electronically compensates for signal attenuation over 5 meters, maintaining 10 Gbps transmission integrity without the distance limitations of passive cables. It supports both 1G and 10G, automatically adapting to the port speed of the host device. Integrated SFP+ modules at both ends eliminate the need for separate transceivers, simplifying installation and reducing component count in the rack.

S+AO0005 connects directly into SFP/SFP+ ports on compatible MikroTik equipment with no additional configuration required — complete plug-and-play. The 5-meter length covers typical distances between adjacent racks or equipment within the same communications enclosure, with sufficient flexibility for routing through cable management organizers.

Recommended for interconnecting switches and routers in rack infrastructure where passive DAC cables are not compatible, 10G links between equipment at distances up to 5 meters, RB4011 series installations where passive cable compatibility is limited, and any scenario where an active SFP+ direct attach solution is more practical than optical modules with separate fiber cabling.
