MikroTik wAP R Outdoor Access Point for SOHO & SMB Networks

wAP R is a weatherproof 2.4GHz wireless access point with a miniPCIe slot for an LTE modem, designed for mobile wireless connectivity in vehicles and outdoor installations where simultaneous LTE internet access and WiFi distribution are required. It is widely used in buses, trains, cars, and remote locations where the automotive power connector and IP54-rated enclosure ensure reliable operation in demanding conditions.

The device delivers dual-chain 2.4GHz WiFi connectivity at up to 300 Mbit/s with integrated LTE antennas, while the miniPCIe slot allows installation of an LTE modem of choice for customized mobile connectivity. The 10/100 Ethernet port enables wired device connectivity, and a maximum draw of just 6W with passive cooling makes it suitable for powering from limited vehicle power sources. The -40°C to +70°C operating range guarantees reliable performance in extreme climatic conditions.

wAP R supports three power inputs — passive PoE, 9-30V DC jack, and 9-30V automotive connector — providing direct compatibility with vehicle electrical systems without additional converters. The kit includes a 0.35m automotive cable, desktop stand, ceiling mount bracket, K-52 fastening set, and K-50 locking kit for securing physical access. E-MARK certification confirms compliance for vehicle use in European markets, alongside CE, FCC, and IC.

Recommended for vehicle fleets requiring mobile WiFi and LTE connectivity, for urban and intercity public transport, and for fixed outdoor installations in remote locations without fiber access. Also suitable for temporary or mobile use — placed near a window on the included desktop stand — where fixed infrastructure is impractical. The LTE modem is not included and must be purchased separately. The RouterOS license and software updates are included free of charge for the lifetime of the product.
