MikroTik RBGESP Professional Ethernet Surge Protector for Business Networks
MikroTik RBGESP is a Gigabit Ethernet surge protector designed for outdoor installations where cable runs connect mast-mounted antennas, wireless bridges, or remote access points to indoor switching equipment. It is commonly deployed by ISP installers and network engineers to protect infrastructure from lightning strikes and electrical surges on external cable lines.
The device provides ESD and EMP protection with response to surge voltage at 1 kV/μs, a discharge current of 5 kA, and ±30 kV contact protection — parameters suited for exposed outdoor deployments. Built-in PoE support (IEEE 802.3af/at) allows inline installation on cables that also power wireless devices, with no changes to the existing setup required. The operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C ensures reliable performance across all climates.
RBGESP connects transparently via RJ45 male/female connectors into any existing Gigabit network — no configuration, no throughput loss. The package includes an outdoor enclosure and a dedicated grounding cable. It installs between the outdoor device and the indoor switch or router on cable runs up to 40 meters. Proper grounding to a mast, rack, or earthed structure is required for full protection effectiveness.
Recommended for outdoor wireless installations with mast-mounted antennas, ISP networks with field-deployed equipment, and any infrastructure with long external cable runs exposed to lightning risk. PoE compatibility makes it equally suitable for deployments where IP cameras or access points are powered over the network cable.
