MikroTik SXTsq 5 ax — Advanced Radio Router for SMB & Advanced SOHO Networks
The MikroTik SXTsq 5 ax is a compact outdoor Wi-Fi 6 CPE built for point-to-point wireless links and internet distribution at distances up to 10 km line-of-sight. With an integrated 16 dBi antenna and Access Point mode support, it is widely used by local ISPs, network integrators, and operators building last-mile wireless distribution networks, inter-building links, and rural village ISP deployments. It is the direct Wi-Fi 6 successor to the previous SXTsq generation, retaining the same compact form factor and price point.
The dual-core ARM IPQ-5010 processor at 800 MHz and 256 MB RAM deliver stable routing performance for outdoor wireless traffic, including multi-client scenarios. Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with two 5 GHz chains provides throughput up to 1200 Mbps, with improved performance over Wi-Fi 5 in high-interference environments — field-tested to 3 km in dense urban conditions and capable of 10+ km links in line-of-sight deployments. The integrated 16 dBi antenna provides a precise directional beam suitable for both point-to-point links and narrow sector distribution.
The IP55-rated enclosure withstands harsh weather conditions from -40°C to +70°C, with built-in slots for hose clamp attachment in three mounting positions — including horizontal railings, masts, and poles. Passive PoE input (12–28V) at a maximum draw of 6W eliminates the need for a separate power source at the installation point. RouterOS license level 4 enables the unit to operate both as a client CPE and as a standalone access point, providing flexibility in wireless infrastructure planning.
Recommended for local ISPs and integrators building wireless distribution networks in rural and suburban areas, network administrators connecting remote buildings without fiber infrastructure, and operators deploy
