MikroTik NetMetal ac² is a dual-band outdoor wireless access point with an IP66-rated enclosure, designed for long-range installations in demanding environments where ruggedness, antenna flexibility, and advanced routing performance are simultaneous requirements. With concurrent 2.4/5 GHz support, IPsec hardware offloading, an SFP fiber port, and a miniPCI-e slot for LTE modules, it is one of the most adaptable outdoor platforms in the MikroTik lineup.

The quad-core ARM CPU at 716 MHz with 256 MB RAM handles heavy traffic and complex routing operations without performance degradation — including IPsec hardware offloading for encrypted backhaul links with no throughput penalty. Dual-band WiFi operates simultaneously on 2.4 GHz (Wi-Fi 4, 300 Mbps) and 5 GHz (Wi-Fi 5, 867 Mbps) out of the box with no additional configuration. Two RP-SMA connectors allow free antenna selection based on deployment requirements — from omnidirectional antennas for local coverage to high-gain directional antennas for long-distance links. The SFP port complements the Gigabit Ethernet port for fiber backhaul connectivity.

NetMetal ac² integrates into outdoor infrastructure as a primary access point, backhaul node, or adaptable CPE. The miniPCI-e slot accepts LTE or other wireless modules, extending connectivity options without additional hardware. The IP66 enclosure with protection against water jets from any angle can be opened and closed with one hand — practical for field interventions in rough conditions. The tested operating range of -40°C to +70°C covers any climate for permanent installations.
