MikroTik S+RJ10 is an SFP+ module with an RJ45 connector that enables speeds of up to 10 Gbps over standard twisted-pair cables in devices with SFP+ ports. It is used to upgrade existing networks to 10 Gbps without installing optical fiber — simply plug the module into the SFP+ port of a compatible MikroTik switch or router and the existing UTP cable infrastructure immediately becomes capable of multi-gigabit speeds.
The module supports 6 speeds — 10M, 100M, 1G, 2.5G, 5G, and 10G — over distances of up to 30 metres at 10 Gbps, covering virtually any distance within a rack or server room. The current /r2 revision brings meaningful improvements over earlier versions: jumbo frame support up to 10,218 bytes at 2.5G, 5G, and 10G speeds, accurate link speed reporting in the RouterOS interface, and DDM monitoring for supply voltage and module temperature — useful for diagnostics without physical access to the equipment.
Compatible with any MikroTik device with SFP+ ports and active cooling. On passively cooled devices it is functional but may require additional cooling for stable operation at higher speeds. An MTBF of 100,000 hours and a tested operating range of -20°C to +60°C confirm reliability for permanent rack and technical room installations.
Recommended for upgrading networks to 10 Gbps without investment in fiber optics or new cabling, for interconnecting switches and servers in racks where existing UTP cables are sufficient, and for any infrastructure where SFP+ ports need to be used with next-generation RJ45 hardware without optical modules.
