MikroTik BaseBox 6 – Outdoor 5 GHz Access Point for SMB & Industrial Networks
MikroTik BaseBox 6 is an outdoor wireless platform for the 6 GHz band, designed as an access point, backbone unit, or CPE in networks operating in the licensed 5.9–6.4 GHz spectrum. Based on the RB912 platform with two RP-SMA connectors for external antennas and a miniPCI-e slot for expansion, it provides complete flexibility for configuring long-distance wireless links on the 6 GHz band.
Two RP-SMA connectors allow antenna selection based on the deployment scenario — directional antennas for point-to-point backbone links or sector antennas for multipoint coverage. Three additional antenna connector positions prepare the enclosure for a secondary wireless interface or 3G/4G modem in the miniPCI-e slot, enabling dual-band operation or LTE backup within the same unit. The 600 MHz CPU with 64 MB RAM and Gigabit Ethernet port handle routing and traffic management through RouterOS license level 4. The IP54-rated enclosure with cable protection hood and tested operating range of -40°C to +70°C ensure continuous operation in permanent outdoor installations.
BaseBox 6 is designed for use with MikroTik 6 GHz CPE devices — DynaDish 6 and SXT 6 — forming complete wireless distribution systems in licensed spectrum. Passive PoE input simplifies pole and structure mounting without separate power sources.
Recommended for operators and integrators holding a 5.9–6.4 GHz license building backbone or wireless distribution networks, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links in licensed spectrum, and scenarios where interference in ISM bands makes standard wireless equipment impractical. Important: this product is intended exclusively for holders of a 5.9–6.4 GHz license — proof of license must be presented to the distributor to place an order. Availability may vary based on national regulations. Note: this product is discontinued — see the current MikroTik BaseBox lineup for active alternatives.
