MikroTik hEX PoE lite – Ethernet Router with PoE for SOHO / SMB Networks
The MikroTik hEX PoE lite is a compact five-port Ethernet router with passive PoE output on four ports, designed for SOHO environments and small offices where powering wireless equipment or IP cameras from a single device eliminates the need for separate power adapters. The compact form factor and clean plastic enclosure integrate unobtrusively into any office or technical environment without occupying unnecessary space.
Ethernet ports 2-5 deliver passive PoE output at the same voltage applied to the input — up to 1A per port and 2A total — powering access points, IP cameras, or VoIP phones directly without individual injectors. The USB type A port with power reset supports connecting a 3G/4G modem for backup internet connectivity or a storage device managed through RouterOS. The QCA9531 CPU at 650 MHz and 64 MB RAM run full RouterOS Level 4 with routing, firewall, VPN, and QoS, while idle power consumption of just 3W without attached devices keeps energy use minimal.
Five shielded Ethernet ports provide additional protection against electrical interference in environments with mixed equipment. Dual power input — DC jack at 8-30V and passive PoE in — offers flexibility for installations with varying power sources. The tested operating range of -40°C to +70°C confirms stable operation in technical spaces with thermal variation. A 24V 2.5A power adapter is included in the package.
It is the right fit for small and medium offices needing a managed router with passive PoE for powering access points or cameras without a separate PoE switch, for SOHO environments where installation simplicity and compact size matter as much as RouterOS functionality, for backup internet scenarios via USB where a 3G/4G modem ensures connection continuity, and for small networks where a single device replaces a separate router, switch, and individual PoE injectors.
