The MikroTik MTCWE — Certified Wireless Engineer is a professional certification course for network engineers and technicians designing, configuring and troubleshooting wireless infrastructures based on MikroTik equipment. The MTCWE course covers 802.11 standards, wireless security, proprietary Nstreme and Nv2 protocols, WDS, MESH and wireless bridging — building the skills required for professional wireless network deployments in corporate, WISP and ISP environments.

Course agenda covers the following modules:

Wireless Installations: you will understand MikroTik hardware architecture for wireless deployments — routers, RouterBoard wireless cards and antenna types — the essential foundation for selecting the right equipment based on topology and coverage requirements.

Wireless Standards and Tools: you will work with 802.11 a/b/g/n standards, bands and channel widths, and use diagnostic tools — Scan, Frequency Usage, Spectral Scan/History, Snooper, Align and Sniffer — for radio environment analysis and optimization.

Wireless Troubleshooting: you will analyze the client registration table, interpret CCQ, Ack-Timeout/Distance, TX/RX signal strength, frames and HW-frames, and data-rates — critical skills for diagnosing and resolving wireless connectivity issues in real-world networks.

Advanced Wireless Settings and 802.11n: you will configure advanced parameters — HW-retries, HW-protection, Adaptive Noise Immunity, WMM, country regulations, TX-power and Virtual-AP — and implement 802.11n-specific features: channel bonding, frame aggregation and chain settings for maximum wireless performance.

Wireless Security: you will implement comprehensive wireless security — Access-List, Connect-List, RADIUS authentication, encryption, EAP and Management Frame Protection — solutions for protecting corporate and WISP wireless networks against unauthorized access.

WDS, MESH and Wireless Bridging: you will configure dynamic and static WDS with RSTP Bridge, implement MESH networks using the HWMP+ protocol, and perform transparent wireless bridging via WDS, Pseudobridge and MPLS/VPLS tunnels — solutions for extending wireless coverage across large areas or complex topologies.

Nstreme and Nv2 Protocols: you will configure and troubleshoot MikroTik proprietary protocols Nstreme (including Nstreme Dual) and Nv2 TDMA — solutions that overcome standard 802.11 limitations in point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links with superior throughput and spectral efficiency.

Entry requirements: MTCWE is a specialized MikroTik course requiring a valid MTCNA certification as a mandatory prerequisite. Every module includes hands-on lab sessions using real MikroTik hardware.

Upon completion, participants receive the official MikroTik MTCWE certification and the practical ability to design, deploy and secure professional wireless networks — from simple AP installations to MESH infrastructures and long-range wireless links. Ideal for wireless engineers, WISP technicians and IT administrators managing wireless infrastructures with high performance and availability requirements.

Important: Enrollment requires a valid MTCNA certification.
