The MikroTik MTCUME — Certified User Management Engineer is a two-day professional certification course for network engineers and technicians managing large-scale corporate networks with centralized user authentication. The MTCUME course covers the complete PPP stack in RouterOS — PPTP, L2TP, PPPoE, IPsec, HotSpot and RADIUS — building the skills required to deploy and secure user access across distributed network infrastructures.
Course agenda covers the following modules:
Module 1 — PPP: you will configure PPP profiles with rate-limiting, inbound/outbound filters, session timeout and IP Pool management — the essential foundation for centralized user connection management in RouterOS networks.
Module 2 — PPTP and L2TP: you will implement and compare PPTP and L2TP protocols, configure client and server for both, with dial-on-demand support, static routes and dedicated per-client interfaces.
Module 3 — PPPoE: you will configure PPPoE server and client with profiles, encryption, static interfaces and ECMP load balancing — the standard authentication solution for subscriber management in ISP and corporate environments.
Module 4 — Bridging: you will build network bridges over L2TP, EoIP, VPLS and BCP tunnels, enable Multilink PPP (MLPPP) for bandwidth aggregation and verify Ethernet connectivity between remote nodes — critical techniques for distributed and WAN enterprise deployments.
Module 5 — IPsec: you will deploy IPsec VPN with multiple authentication methods, exchange modes, encryption and hashing algorithms, NAT-Traversal and DPD — including a complete IPsec tunnel configuration between two routers behind NAT.
Module 6 — HotSpot: you will set up a full HotSpot system with HTTP, MAC, Cookie, HTTPS and RADIUS authentication methods, manage users with traffic and uptime limits, customize login pages and implement Walled Garden for selective access control.
Module 7 — RADIUS and UserManager: you will integrate RouterOS with an external RADIUS server and configure MikroTik UserManager — the built-in RADIUS server — for centralized management of users, profiles and access policies across the entire network.
Entry requirements: MTCUME is an advanced MikroTik course requiring a valid MTCNA certification as a mandatory prerequisite. Duration: 2 days, intensive format with hands-on lab sessions included in every module.
Upon completion, participants receive the official MikroTik MTCUME certification and the practical ability to design and administer centralized authentication systems for large-scale corporate networks — from VPN concentrators and IPsec to HotSpot and RADIUS. Ideal for network engineers, ISP administrators and IT specialists managing user access across distributed infrastructures with hundreds or thousands of simultaneous connections.
Important: Enrollment requires a valid MTCNA certification.
