The MikroTik MTCIPv6E — Certified IPv6 Engineer is a two-day professional certification course for network engineers and technicians deploying and managing IPv6 infrastructure in corporate networks, WISP and ISP client environments. This MikroTik IPv6 certification covers the complete IPv6 protocol stack in RouterOS — from addressing and routing to security and transition mechanisms — building the skills required for production IPv6 deployments.
Course agenda covers the following modules:
Module 1 — Introduction to IPv6: you will understand IPv6 address structure and types (Link-Local, Global, Multicast, Anycast, Unique Local), key differences from IPv4, SLAAC with EUI-64 address generation, and IPv6 subnetting fundamentals.
Module 2 — IPv6 Protocol: you will configure IPv6 addresses via Stateless (SLAAC) and Stateful (DHCPv6) methods, implement Neighbor Discovery Protocol, and apply IPv6 routing basics with prefix management.
Module 3 — IPv6 Packet: you will examine the IPv6 header structure, Next Header daisy chaining, packet fragmentation and Path MTU Discovery — essential for traffic diagnostics and network performance optimization.
Module 4 — IPv6 Security: you will implement ICMPv6, MLD, temporary addresses, IPv6 firewall and IPsec in all encryption modes — AH, ESP and AH+ESP — a critical module for ISP and enterprise network engineers.
Module 5 — Transition Mechanisms: you will configure Dual Stack (RIPE recommended), 6to4, 6RD, Teredo and DS-Lite — practical coexistence strategies for service providers migrating from IPv4 to IPv6.
Module 6 — Interoperability: you will integrate IPv6 with DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation, tunnels (IPIPv6, EoIPv6, GRE6), DNS, NTP, PPP and advanced routing, and identify current RouterOS IPv6 feature limitations including NAT, HotSpot and RADIUS.
Entry requirements: MTCIPv6E is an advanced MikroTik course requiring a valid MTCNA certification as a mandatory prerequisite. Duration: 2 days, intensive format with hands-on lab sessions included in every module.
Upon completion, participants receive the official MikroTik MTCIPv6E certification and the practical ability to design, deploy and secure IPv6 networks in production environments. Ideal for network engineers, ISP technicians and IT administrators managing dual-stack or IPv6-only infrastructure.
Important: Enrollment requires a valid MTCNA certification.
