The switch is built on the Marvell 98DX226S chip with a dual-core ARM processor at 800 MHz and 256 MB RAM — the same hardware platform as the netFiber 9 — managed via RouterOS v7 or SwOS (License Level 5). SFP+ ports support both 1G and 10G modules for maximum flexibility in fiber type and coverage distance selection. Maximum power consumption of just 7W without attachments confirms the platform's remarkable energy efficiency for a permanent outdoor installation. Three independent powering options — DC jack, 2-pin terminal, and 802.3af/at PoE-in — with a wide 24-57V input range provide complete flexibility in scenarios where available power sources vary.

The FiberBox Plus integrates into distributed network infrastructures as an outdoor fiber aggregation node, with the Gigabit Ethernet port usable for both local management and PoE-in powering. Dual boot between RouterOS v7 and SwOS allows administration through the preferred interface — from advanced RouterOS configuration to simplified SwOS management in scenarios where complexity is not required. The RJ45 console provides direct access for configuration and troubleshooting without network dependency.
