MikroTik CRS812-8DS-2DQ-2DDQ-RM — Enterprise Smart Switch for Professional Networks

MikroTik CRS812-8DS-2DQ-2DDQ-RM is a next-generation Cloud Router Switch 1U rackmount designed to bring 50G, 200G, and 400G connectivity into enterprise racks and data centers at an accessible cost. It is deployed in core aggregation infrastructures, server clusters, high-performance storage fabrics, and ISP networks where ultra-high speeds were previously reserved for prohibitively expensive and complex equipment. It represents MikroTik's first solution with 400G ports, scaling the network from 10G to 400G in a single managed device without complete replacement of existing infrastructure.

CRS812 DDQ provides 8 SFP56 ports supporting speeds from 1G to 50G, 2 QSFP56 ports for 200G connections, and 2 QSFP56-DD ports for uplinks up to 400G — totaling 1.6 Tbps unidirectional capacity in a 1U form factor. QSFP56 and QSFP56-DD ports support flexible breakout modes, enabling connection of existing equipment with SFP+ 10G, SFP28 25G, or QSFP28 100G ports without replacement. Two 10G Ethernet ports provide standard connectivity for management and integration into hybrid topologies. The Marvell 98DX7335 switch chip with the quad-core ARM AL52400 processor at 2 GHz and 4 GB DDR4 RAM delivers non-blocking switching and L3 hardware-offloaded routing at wire-speed.

Operational reliability is ensured by dual redundant hot-swap power supplies and 4 hot-swap cooling fans replaceable without powering down the switch — standard configuration for mission-critical environments where downtime is not acceptable. RouterOS v7 (License Level 6) provides VLAN management, dynamic routing protocols, MPLS, QoS, firewall, SNMP, and complete traffic management with no recurring licensing costs. Integrated CPU, PCB temperature, and voltage sensors provide full visibility into system health.

Recommended for small and medium data centers implementing leaf-spine topologies with 400G uplinks to spine, AI and GPU clusters requiring ultra-high-speed interconnects, and all-flash storage fabrics with native 50G or 200G uplinks. Also suited for ISPs and network operators upgrading the core to 100G/200G/400G speeds without prohibitive investment, and for any infrastructure where the transition from 10G/25G to the next generation must be progressive and compatible with existing equipment.
