MikroTik KNOT LR9 Kit IoT Gateway – Industrial Connectivity for IoT Networks
MikroTik KNOT LR9 kit is an all-in-one out-of-the-box IoT gateway for LoRa technology at 902–928 MHz, designed to integrate IoT devices with different protocols and interfaces into a single unified management system. It is deployed in agriculture, asset monitoring, cold chain management, industrial manufacturing, and urban automation where LoRa sensors, Bluetooth tags, GPS, and NB-IoT/CAT-M cellular connectivity must be managed simultaneously at minimum operational cost. The first MikroTik gateway with a CAT-M interface for LoRa — a low-cost, low-bandwidth cellular connection supported by countless mobile operators globally at monthly rates significantly lower than LTE.
KNOT LR9 kit integrates LoRaWAN 902–928 MHz with 8 simultaneous channels, Listen Before Talk, and spectral scan on the R11e-LR9 module; the BG77 CAT-M/NB-IoT modem with a Nano SIM slot for cellular backup or management connectivity; GPS with an SMA female connector for real-time positioning; and Bluetooth 5.2 with a uUFL connector for asset tracking and telemetry based on BLE advertisement packets — compatible with iBeacon, Eddystone, and any custom format. Dual-chain 2.4 GHz WiFi 4, 2x 10/100 Ethernet ports with PoE-in 802.3af/at and passive PoE-out on Ether2, microUSB, and an RS485 serial port complete connectivity for integration with analog sensors, single-board computers, and custom electronics via the available GPIOs.
The pre-installed UDP packet forwarder enables immediate forwarding of LoRa data to any public or private server — The Things Network, The Things Industries, or proprietary infrastructure — without additional configuration. Power flexibility through DC jack 12–57V, PoE-in 802.3af/at, or microUSB 5V ensures installation in any location. The included kit — 24V 1.2A adapter, K-47 wall mount set, DIN rail mount, and USB OTG cable — enables immediate installation in an outdoor cabinet, on a wall, or on a DIN rail. Consumption of 5W without load and passive cooling complete the profile of an efficient and silent IoT gateway across the -40°C to +70°C range.
Recommended for IoT integrators unifying LoRa, Bluetooth, and GPS devices under a single gateway with CAT-M/NB-IoT backhaul at minimum operational cost, asset monitoring applications, vending machines, and environmental sensors where a few megabytes per day are sufficient for complete management, and deployments in areas without available Ethernet where CAT-M provides the management connection and LoRa covers the local sensor network. Also suited for DIY projects and robotics where GPIOs and the RS485 port enable integration with custom electronics and single-board computers.
