MikroTik RB5009UPr+S+OUT Outdoor Router – High-Performance Connectivity for SMB & Industrial Networks
The MikroTik RB5009UPr+S+OUT is a high-performance outdoor PoE router in an IP66-rated waterproof enclosure, designed for outdoor deployments where reliability in extreme weather conditions and extensive power redundancy are critical requirements. It is widely used in network towers, distributed ISP infrastructures, outdoor surveillance systems, and distribution networks where active equipment must be powered via PoE from a single weather-resistant central node. Nine independent power sources, PoE-out on all eight Ethernet ports, and a combined output power of 130W make it the reference solution for maximum redundancy at the lowest possible cost.
The router is built on a quad-core ARM64 88F7040 processor running at up to 1400 MHz with 1 GB RAM and 1 GB NAND storage, managed via RouterOS v7 (License Level 5). Connectivity includes 7 Gigabit Ethernet ports with 802.3af/at PoE-in and PoE-out, 1 x 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port with PoE-out, 1 x 10G SFP+ port, and USB 3.0 Type-A with USB Power Reset. Each PoE-out port delivers up to 25W, with a combined total output of 130W — sufficient for simultaneously powering multiple IP cameras, access points, or outdoor switches. All power inputs support a wide 24-57V range, with automatic selection of the highest-voltage source when multiple inputs are active simultaneously.
The RB5009UPr+S+OUT integrates into complex network infrastructures as a central outdoor node, supporting PPPoE termination, DHCP, Local Queuing, MPLS Push/Pop/Swap, MPLS Forwarding, VPLS/VXLAN Termination, and hardware bridging. Unprecedented redundancy — the router remains operational even if 8 of its 9 power sources fail simultaneously — makes it suitable for critical installations where downtime is not acceptable. CPU and PCB temperature monitoring, along with voltage and current monitoring, provide complete operational visibility in production environments.
It is recommended for small and medium ISPs building network towers or outdoor distribution nodes, outdoor video surveillance infrastructures where PoE powering of cameras from a single device is essential, distributed networks with requirements for power redundancy and resistance to extreme weather conditions, and network administrators who need the full RouterOS v7 feature set — MPLS, VPLS, advanced firewall, VPN — in a compact outdoor device. IP66 protection and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C confirm reliable operation in any climatic conditions.
