MikroTik RB450 RouterBOARD for SOHO & SMB Networks

MikroTik RB450 is a RouterBOARD router with five Ethernet ports, designed for advanced routing in outdoor installations and OEM applications where wireless interfaces are not required. With a RouterOS L5 license and an integrated switch chip, it provides flexibility for router, switch, or hybrid configurations in a compact form factor with minimal power consumption.

The integrated switch chip allows combining ports for wire-speed port-to-port communication without loading the processor with internal traffic — relevant for scenarios where some ports serve local clients while others handle WAN uplinks. The AR7161 processor at 300 MHz with 64 MB RAM covers routing and firewall requirements for small networks, and the maximum power draw of 5.8 W enables Passive PoE operation (8–28 V) over a single cable without a local power source.

RB450 runs RouterOS L5 with support for advanced routing, BGP, OSPF, VPN, hotspot, and bandwidth management. The RS232 serial console port enables out-of-band access at remote locations without active management connectivity. The compact form factor and absence of moving parts make it suitable for installation in outdoor enclosures or equipment panels in locations without climate control.

Recommended for wired routing nodes in small ISP networks, OEM applications requiring a RouterOS L5 platform without wireless components, remote sites with ultra-low power consumption requirements, and scenarios where the integrated switch eliminates the need for additional switching equipment. Tested operating temperature from -30°C to +55°C and an MTBF of 100,000 hours confirm reliability under permanent operating conditions.
