The MikroTik RB711G-5HnD is a compact AP-type RouterBOARD with an integrated 5GHz 802.11a/n wireless card and a Gigabit Ethernet port, designed for outdoor deployments in point-to-point and sector wireless networks — particularly as an optimized platform for MikroTik's Nv2 TDMA protocol. It is used by WISP operators and network integrators building 5GHz wireless infrastructure with high throughput requirements on backhaul or sector access links.

The integrated wireless card covers 4800–6075 MHz with up to 25 dBm transmit power and dual-chain support through two MMCX connectors, enabling directional or sector antenna configurations for maximizing gain and operating range. The Gigabit Ethernet port eliminates the throughput limitations of Fast Ethernet ports found on earlier CPE platforms, while 16kV ESD protection on both RF and Ethernet ports ensures reliability in exposed outdoor installations. RouterOS Level 4 comes preinstalled, including routing, firewall, bandwidth management, VPN, and full Nv2 support without additional licensing.

Integrated voltage and PCB temperature monitoring enables remote diagnostics of device status without physical access — an important capability for installations mounted on poles or towers. The USB port with USB Power Reset provides a hardware restart mechanism for connected devices from a distance. The tested operating temperature range of -30°C to +65°C and an MTBF of 100,000 hours at 25°C confirm the design for continuous outdoor operation. Passive PoE input simplifies pole or mast installation without a local power source.

Recommended for WISP operators building point-to-point and sector links in the 5GHz band using Nv2 TDMA protocol, for integrators requiring a compact AP platform with Gigabit Ethernet and dual-chain MMCX connectors, and for outdoor infrastructures where ESD protection, voltage monitoring, and Gigabit throughput in a single compact device are defining project requirements.
