MikroTik CRS520-4XS-16XQ-RM — Enterprise 100G/25G Data Center Switch
MikroTik CRS520-4XS-16XQ-RM is an ultra-fast enterprise switch with 16 QSFP28 100G ports, 4 SFP28 25G ports, and 2 Ethernet 10G ports, designed for data centers, complex enterprise networks, and multimedia studios where 100G port density and advanced processing power are critical priorities. It is MikroTik's first switch to offer the most competitive price per 100G port on the market, combining the Marvell 98CX8410 switch chip with the quad-core ARM AL52400 processor at 2 GHz and 4 GB DDR4 from the CCR series — a platform that far exceeds the limits of a traditional switch. A single CRS520 can replace multiple devices in complex enterprise topologies.
The 16 QSFP28 100G ports deliver massive aggregate bandwidth for spine-leaf interconnects, all-flash storage fabrics, and data center backbones, complemented by 4 SFP28 25G ports for current-generation equipment connectivity and 2 Ethernet 10G ports for management and hybrid topology integration. The quad-core ARM64 processor at 2 GHz with 4 GB DDR4 — the same architecture as in MikroTik CCR routers — enables simultaneous OSPF, BGP, out-of-band management VPNs, ACLs, Jumbo frames, and L3 Hardware Offloaded routing alongside wire-speed switching on all 100G ports. As Marvell expands chipset capabilities, MikroTik will deliver additional functionality through software updates at no additional cost.
Dual hot-swap power supplies and 4 hot-swap cooling fans replaceable without powering down the switch ensure high availability and maintenance without downtime in active production environments. Maximum consumption of 123W without optics and 150W at full load positions the CRS520 as an energy-efficient solution for the 100G port density it offers. The switch can also be powered by the PW48V-12V150W hot-swap -48V DC telecom power supply, available separately. RouterOS v7 (License Level 5) provides full enterprise functionality with no subscriptions or locked features.
Recommended for small and medium data centers implementing spine-leaf topologies with 100G ports, enterprise network backbones where high 100G port density and L3 routing capabilities are simultaneously required, and multimedia studios and compute-intensive infrastructures with high aggregate bandwidth demands. Also suited for telecom operators deploying 100G equipment with -48V DC power and for any infrastructure where the best price per 100G port with full RouterOS functionality is the priority.
