MikroTik GPeRx4 — Industrial Ethernet Extender for Critical Networks
MikroTik GPeRx4 is an outdoor passive Gigabit Ethernet repeater with PoE splitter, designed to split a single 90W PoE-out port into three standard 30W PoE-out connections, expanding the number of PoE-powered devices without replacing the switch or adding additional equipment. It is deployed by integrators and outdoor network operators powering IP cameras, access points, and sensors from a single high-power port of an existing switch. The IP68 enclosure and idle consumption of just 4W make it a cost-effective solution for permanent outdoor installations where energy efficiency and resistance to extreme weather conditions are mandatory.
GPeRx4 accepts PoE-in 802.3bt at 48–57V with a total capacity of up to 115W and distributes this across ports Ether2–Ether4 with PoE-out 802.3af/at — current limited to 0.7A in low voltage mode and 0.6A in high voltage mode, with a maximum total of 2A across all output ports. The 2-pin terminal accepts 24–57V DC as an alternative power source for installations without an available PoE switch. All 4 ports are Gigabit Ethernet, with ports isolated from each other and communicating exclusively with the first port — meaning the device functions as an extender, not a traditional switch. The 88E6341 switch chip provides processing at 200 MHz for management and monitoring.
SwOS Lite provides complete web browser management without additional software: interface monitoring, VLAN support, traffic shaping, SNMP reporting, and fault detection for GPEN links. GPeRx4 units can be daisy-chained via the 2-pin connector to extend the PoE network in depth without additional power sources, configurable in SwOS Lite with the Power I/O option set to Output. The operating range from -40°C to +70°C and IP68 enclosure guarantee continuous operation in the most demanding outdoor conditions.
Recommended for outdoor video surveillance installations where a single PoE++ port must power multiple IP cameras simultaneously, outdoor access point deployments powered from a switch with limited high-power PoE ports, and any installation where maximizing PoE-powered devices without a switch upgrade is the priority. Also suited for extending PoE networks in hard-to-reach locations by daisy-chaining GPeRx4 units, and for industrial outdoor installations where IP68 protection is a mandatory requirement.
