MikroTik CRS510-8XS-2XQ-IN Switch – High-Performance Enterprise Network Switch
The MikroTik CRS510-8XS-2XQ-IN is a datacenter and server room switch with 2 x 100 Gigabit QSFP28 ports and 8 x 25 Gigabit SFP28 ports, designed for high-speed network infrastructures where connection diversity and power redundancy are essential operational requirements. It is widely used as an aggregation or top-of-rack switch in colocation environments, enterprise server rooms, and ISP infrastructures where 100G, 25G, 40G, and 10G connections between nodes must be managed from a single compact device. Compatibility with DAC cables, AOC, and copper RJ45 modules makes it suitable for any existing topology without replacing cabling infrastructure.
The switch is built on the Marvell Prestera 98DX4310 chip with a QCA9531 processor at 650 MHz and 128 MB RAM, managed via RouterOS v7 (License Level 5). The eight SFP28 ports support 25G, 10G, and 1G, while the two QSFP28 ports cover 100G and 40G — providing full compatibility with multiple generations of equipment without additional adapters. The Marvell Prestera switch chip handles VLANs, ACL, MLAG, Jumbo frames, and L3 hardware offloading at a consumption of just 27W without attachments — remarkable efficiency for this density of high-speed ports.
The CRS510-8XS-2XQ-IN provides complete power redundancy through 5 independent sources: 2 hot-swap AC power supplies in dedicated slots, DC jack, 2-pin terminal, and 802.3bt PoE-in — eliminating downtime caused by power supply failure. Dual fans provide active cooling required in densely populated rack environments, while the 10/100 management Ethernet port and RJ45 console enable direct access for configuration and emergency recovery independent of the production network.
It is recommended for enterprise server rooms and colocation environments where 25G port density and 100G uplinks are standard requirements, ISPs and network operators building high-speed aggregation nodes with complete power redundancy, virtualization and storage infrastructures where 25G per-server connections and 100G core uplinks are the current architecture, and any production environment where hot-swappable power supplies without downtime are an operational requirement. An operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C and CE certifications confirm suitability for technical indoor environments with high availability requirements.
