MikroTik CCR2004-16G-2S+PC Router – High-Performance Enterprise Network Router
The MikroTik CCR2004-16G-2S+PC is a completely silent passively cooled core router with 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 2 x 10G SFP+ ports, designed for offices, studios, homelabs, and server rooms where CCR-level performance is required without fan noise. It is widely used as a primary router in SMB and small enterprise networks, a core gateway for ISPs, and a central routing node in infrastructures where complex processing — advanced firewall, VPN, BGP, MPLS — must be performed at wire speed without bottlenecks. Performance up to 3 times higher than the CCR1009 generation and 4 GB DDR4 RAM position it as a natural upgrade for infrastructures that have outgrown previous routers.
The router is built on a quad-core ARM64 Amazon Annapurna Labs Alpine v2 (AL32400) with 4 x ARMv8-A Cortex-A57 cores at 1.2 GHz, 4 GB DDR4 RAM, and 128 MB NAND storage, managed via RouterOS v7 (License Level 6 — the highest available). The 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports are grouped into two sets of 8, each connected to a Marvell Amethyst switch chip with a dedicated 10 Gbps full-duplex line to the CPU — with no shared bandwidth between ports. Each 10G SFP+ port has its own dedicated 10 Gbps channel to the CPU, completely eliminating bottlenecks in high-traffic scenarios. Fully passive cooling ensures silent operation under any load.
The CCR2004-16G-2S+PC integrates into complex network infrastructures as a core or edge router with full RouterOS v7 capability — BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPLS, PPPoE termination, advanced firewall, IPsec, WireGuard, and granular QoS. Dual powering via DC jack and 2-pin terminal with a 36-57V input range provides redundancy in critical installations. The front-panel RJ45 console port and USB port enable direct access for configuration and emergency recovery.
It is recommended for offices and studios where complete absence of fan noise is an environmental requirement, small and medium ISPs needing a CCR router with advanced routing capabilities, homelabs and testing environments where ARM64 processing power with 4 GB RAM enables complex RouterOS scenarios, and SMB infrastructures upgrading from CCR1009 seeking tripled performance with passive cooling. An operating temperature range of -20°C to +60°C and CE certifications confirm suitability for indoor technical environments.
