Cloud Hosted Router P1, L4/P1

MikroTik Cloud Hosted Router (CHR) — License P1 / Level 4 is the entry-level licensing tier for RouterOS, covering both virtualized environments and physical hardware. CHR P1 enables RouterOS to run as a virtual machine on VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, or VirtualBox platforms with a 1 Mbps outbound throughput limit — ideal for testing, development, and small-scale deployments. The equivalent L4 license covers the same feature set on physical RouterBOARD or PC hardware.

At the P1/L4 level, RouterOS supports advanced routing, stateful firewall, VPN, hotspot gateway, wireless access point, and bandwidth management — with limits of up to 200 active connections and tunnels. It is well suited for small offices, remote sites, test labs, and pilot deployments where the extended capacity of higher license tiers is not required.

License activation is handled directly through your MikroTik account. After purchasing via our portal, the license key is transferred to your MikroTik account immediately. RouterOS and CHR software are available as free downloads from the official MikroTik website and become fully operational once the P1/L4 license is applied.

CHR P1 / RouterOS L4 is recommended for administrators testing RouterOS configurations in virtual environments, small businesses with basic routing and VPN requirements, integrators building demo or sandbox setups, and users migrating from physical hardware to virtualized infrastructure.
