The Vega SI-13-232 is a LoRaWAN converter with an RS-232 interface and two independent pulse inputs, designed to integrate meters and industrial equipment into LoRaWAN-based IoT networks. Widely used in utility telemetry systems — water, gas, electricity, and heat — where existing equipment features an RS-232 interface or pulse output, the converter transmits collected data wirelessly to a gateway over the 860–1000 MHz frequency band without modifying the existing metering infrastructure.

Transparent RS-232 modem operation enables reading and transmitting data from any meter or industrial device with a serial RS-232 interface without reprogramming the source equipment. The two independent pulse inputs accumulate and transmit readings from meters with herkon or open-drain outputs, covering two measurement points simultaneously with a single device. Pulse inputs are configurable as security inputs, extending the converter's use to monitoring and alerting applications for perimeter or industrial security systems. External 8–36V DC power supply ensures compatibility with standard industrial power sources available in distribution panels and technical enclosures.

LoRaWAN transmission in the 860–1000 MHz band provides long-range coverage in urban and industrial environments with strong penetration into buildings and underground installations. The converter integrates into existing LoRaWAN infrastructures via compatible gateways and standard IoT management platforms without network architecture modifications. Transmission parameters and operating mode configuration are performed via the RS-232 interface or wirelessly.
