Online double-conversion topology continuously regulates voltage and frequency, delivering a clean sine wave with ±1% output voltage regulation regardless of utility conditions. Unity power factor provides the full 5000 W of real power, enough to protect several servers and network devices in a single rack. Efficiency of up to 96.7% in online mode and 99% in eco mode, together with ENERGY STAR certification, lowers energy and cooling costs. An input range of 176–276 V (100–276 V with derating) and 40–70 Hz keeps the UPS on utility power through typical fluctuations. ABM+ predictive battery management, combined with temperature-compensated charging, automatic battery testing and deep discharge protection, extends battery life. Internal batteries and external EBMs are hot-swappable, and the 9.4-minute runtime at half load can be extended with up to 12 automatically recognized EBMs.

The 19-inch 3U chassis mounts in a rack using the included brackets and slides, or stands upright as a tower unit. Input is hardwired, while the output side offers 8 C13 outlets, 3 C19 outlets and a hardwired output for flexible power distribution. Monitoring and integration are handled through USB (HID), RS232, remote on/off and remote power off terminals, two dry contacts and an expansion slot for an optional network card, with support for the Eaton Brightlayer software suite. The internal bypass keeps the load powered in the event of a UPS fault, and the multilingual graphical LCD shows system status on site.
