Teltonika TRB500 5G Industrial Gateway – SA/NSA, LTE Cat 20 Compact Edge Connectivity for IoT and Critical Infrastructure

The Teltonika TRB500 is a compact, energy-efficient industrial 5G gateway designed for IoT applications, industrial automation, and cellular connectivity infrastructures where ultra-high throughput, minimal latency, and industrial protocol compatibility are simultaneous project requirements. The cellular module supports 5G Sub-6 GHz SA/NSA with download speeds of up to 3.3 Gbps (4x4 MIMO) and is backward compatible with 4G LTE Cat 20 at 2.0 Gbps and 3G networks, ensuring continuous connectivity in areas with partial or transitional 5G coverage. Configurable digital inputs and outputs (2x I/O on the 4-pin power connector) allow direct integration with sensors and automation equipment without additional modules. Native support for Modbus TCP, OPC UA, DNP3, and DLMS/COSEM combined with a full VPN stack — OpenVPN, IPsec, WireGuard, ZeroTier, and Tailscale — addresses secure connectivity requirements across SCADA and IIoT infrastructures.

The TRB500 runs RutOS (OpenWrt-based) on an ARM Cortex A7 processor at 1.5 GHz with 256 MB RAM, providing an SDK for firmware customization and scripting support in Lua, Python, and C++. Native integration with Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Core, Cumulocity, and ThingWorx alongside Teltonika RMS management enables centralized fleet administration without physical access to individual units. Wide-range DC input of 9–30 VDC with reverse polarity protection and ±1 kV surge protection ensures stable operation in industrial environments with electrical interference.
