Teltonika RUTC40 – Industrial 4G LTE Cat 4 Edge Router Enterprise with Wi-Fi 6 and Docker
The Teltonika RUTC40 is an industrial global 4G LTE Cat 4 edge router powered by a Telit modem and equipped with an integrated multi-system GNSS module, designed for distributed infrastructures operating across multiple geographic regions. Purpose-built for fleet management, mobile asset monitoring, and industrial remote networks where location tracking and local data processing are simultaneous operational requirements, the RUTC40 integrates LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, Docker, digital I/O, and GNSS tracking into a compact anodized aluminum platform.
The Telit-based LTE Cat 4 module delivers download speeds up to 150 Mbps and upload up to 50 Mbps, with automatic switching between two physical SIM cards and one eSIM based on signal quality, data limits, or roaming conditions. The dual-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor at 1.3 GHz paired with 1 GB DDR4 RAM sustains stable throughput under concurrent workloads, while 8 GB eMMC storage enables Docker container execution directly on the device. The integrated GNSS module covers GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS, with configurable geofencing zones, NTRIP protocol support, and coordinate reporting via WebUI, SMS, or the TAVL platform.
Running RutOS (OpenWrt-based), the RUTC40 integrates with Teltonika RMS for centralized fleet management, FOTA firmware updates, and real-time network monitoring. Dynamic routing covers BGP, OSPF, RIP, and EIGRP, while the VPN stack includes OpenVPN, IPsec IKEv2, WireGuard, ZeroTier, DMVPN, Tailscale, Netbird, and OpenConnect. Industrial protocol support for BACnet, Modbus TCP/USB, OPC UA, DNP3, and DLMS/COSEM enables integration into SCADA systems and IIoT infrastructure, complemented by digital I/O for sensor and actuator connectivity.
The RUTC40 is suited for fleet and mobile asset operators requiring GNSS tracking combined with global 4G connectivity, enterprises with internationally distributed infrastructures where multi-operator network compatibility is critical, IIoT and SCADA system integrators with edge computing and industrial protocol requirements, and utilities and transport organizations with high availability mandates. The anodized aluminum housing, -40 °C to 65 °C operating range, IP30 rating, and DIN rail mounting confirm readiness for deployment in demanding technical environments.
