Reliable 5G connectivity in locations without a clear line to a single base station remains a challenge across dense urban areas, ports, and industrial sites. In these conditions, an outdoor 5G unit with omnidirectional antennas provides dependable mobile network access and is commonly deployed as backup internet or for fixed wireless access where fibre is unavailable. LAMP 5G R16 connects automatically to the best available network nearby and adapts without antenna realignment when conditions change.
The unit is built around a modern 5G SA/NSA modem with LTE Cat 20 fallback, delivering high throughput and low latency for concurrent business traffic. Omnidirectional antennas and 4x4 MIMO maintain a stable signal even when a tower goes offline or a stronger signal becomes available, removing the need for manual reorientation. A dual-core ARM 64-bit processor at 800 MHz and 512 MB of RAM support routing, VPN, and network services without performance loss.
Network integration is handled through a single Gigabit Ethernet port with PoE-in (802.3af/at), allowing pole or wall installation over one cable. The device runs RouterOS v7 (license level 3) and fits into the MikroTik ecosystem, including remote administration and MikroTik Connectivity. A built-in eSIM alongside the microSIM slot enables remote data-plan activation, storage of multiple operator profiles, and switching between them without swapping a physical card — useful for multi-operator networks and roaming deployments.
An IP67 enclosure, EN 60945 maritime certification, and the included stainless-steel bracket make it suitable for system integrators and IT teams handling demanding outdoor installations: ports, marinas, coastal infrastructure, transport, and industrial sites. Built-in GNSS (GPS, Glonass, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS) adds positioning for fleet management, asset tracking, and remote infrastructure. With an operating range of -40°C to +70°C and just 10 W consumption, it suits backup internet where downtime is unacceptable, FWA without fibre, and temporary or mobile installations.
